Dr Rod Phillips is a Paediatric Skin Specialist and scientist. He sees children and adolescents with skin problems including acne, birthmarks, haemangiomas, eczema, molluscum, psoriasis, anogenital problems and skin infections. If it is urgent and your doctor rings his rooms, same day appointments are usually possible at Cabrini (Malvern) 9508 6000 and sometimes possible at CPMG (Parkville) 9345 6688. In less urgent cases, the waiting time can be up to a few weeks - sometimes longer when he is overseas at conferences.

Dr Phillips works Wednesdays at Cabrini, Thursdays at CPMG and other days at the Royal Children's Hospital. He does not see adults and does not do allergy testing.

After commencing paediatrics in Melbourne, Dr Phillips trained for three years in paediatric dermatology at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

Since 1994, he has been employed as a consultant at the Royal Children’s Hospital. He also works at Cabrini Hospital in Malvern. He teaches paediatric dermatology to health professionals at all levels of training throughout Australia. His research work is associated with appointments as Associate Professor at Monash University and with the Vascular Biology Unit at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

Rod has a particular interest in empowering children and adolescents to be in charge of their own medical management.
